Nomos Zurich Weltzeit Watch Review

A while ago, I wrote an article about my Top 3 favorite world timer watches ( click here ). Ever since I first saw the Nomos Zurich Weltzeit watch at the SalonQP in London last year, I was waiting for it to finally arrive, to see whether it would get a spot in the Top 3 of my favorite world timer watches.
The version I had in my hands in London was a prototype or at least a version that was subject to a few changes, but it worked perfectly and was easy to adjust.


Luckily, with the new Zurich line-up and Tangomat GMT watches, Nomos decided to enlarge their watches to 39-40mm. This way I could properly give them a try, as the inital Nomos models were way too small for me. A few weeks ago, I was able to fiddle around with a Nomos Zurich Weltzeit watch via Horloge Platform Nederland, one of the official Nomos representatives in the Netherlands. For just above 3.700,- Euro , I think this is an amazing timepiece, as long as the design is up to your taste of course. Although 3.700,- is still a lot of money, you do get an in-house developed Nomos movement (see above) that has an impressive finish and enables you to adjust the time zone in a very simple manner. Pushing the button will turn the city disc and increase the hour hand. The 'heimat' arrow is used to display your home time. Not everyone seems to be happy with the German wording on the dial, but I like it. The Germans can be proud of their heimat once again, for having a cool watch company from Glashuette that creates – nearly – perfect watches for travelers.

I do have my concerns about availability though, as I haven't seen them much around yet while their seems to be such an interest in them. Let's see when they hit the stores in a proper manner.

Baselworld 2014: Breitling Navitimer 46 millimetri / 48 millimetri

Il Breitling Navitimer è disponibile in un caso 41,5 millimetri sin da quando è stato rilasciato più di 60 anni fa. Tuttavia, poiché la tendenza odierna è di grandi orologi, hanno appena rilasciato un 46 millimetri e una versione 48 millimetri del loro orologio, le nuove dimensioni XL. Potrai anche notare che molte aziende stanno rilasciando orologi più piccoli, in modo da questa tendenza potrebbe non essere in giro per molto più tempo. Ci saranno 2 versioni della nuova 46 millimetri Navitimer: il cronografo, che è disponibile in oro rosso (200 pezzo LE) e acciaio. La versione 48mm che è un cronografo / GMT sarà disponibile anche in acciaio e oro rosso (200 piece LE). Cominciamo con l'orologio 46 millimetri. Userà l'in-house Calibro Breitling 01 (B01, da cui il nome Breitling Navitimer 01). Avrà tutti lo stesso disegno / funzioni come l'originale (regola lunetta scivolo, cassa in acciaio lucido, quadrante panda, ecc). Il quadrante è disponibile in nero (nella foto), così come blu aurora (non nella foto). La versione 48 millimetri, alias il Breitling Navitimer GMT utilizzerà il B04 in-house. Non c'è molta differenza tra i due movimenti, entrambi hanno 47 gioielli, una complicazione data, un cronografo, anche lo stesso layout quadrante. Sarà disponibile in un quadrante nero (nella foto) o un quadrante di mercurio (non raffigurato anche se il colore argento sarà davvero cool). Entrambe le versioni verranno con cinghie di cuoio o di pelle Barenia o coccodrillo. La versione in acciaio è disponibile con le cinghie di cuoio e il braccialetto. Questo orologio definito pilota orologi così come cronografi pilota ma ora Breitling è lasciare che gli altri definiscono il cronografo pilota per loro rilasciando il Navitimer in una dimensione più grande.
